Get Involved KY!
Join the Environmental Task
Force as we celebrate the earth and renew our commitment to the environment!
Attend the UUCL’s Environmental Justice Festival and Trunk Sale on Sat., May
9 from 9:00-3:30. The day will include presentations and networking sessions
covering four important environmental issues that affect us all: Global
Warming, Ethical Eating, Green Schools, and Mountaintop Removal. There will also be activities for
children and entertainment for everyone.
There are lots of opportunities for individuals and organizations to get
involved.
Environmental organizations
can participate in any or all of the following three ways. Please
email a request to Rich Mason with your name, your organization's name,
your phone number, address.
1. Rent two large tables for $25, ($10 for each additional
table), to sell items to raise money for your organization.
2. Sign up for an informational table to promote your
organization's purpose at no charge.
3. Encourage your members to participate in the car Trunk Sale,
(below).
We will have two ways for
individuals to recycle, reuse, or repurpose items they no longer need or
want.
1. Trunk Sale. Load up your car or truck and set up a table or
blanket to sell your items! Spaces are available for $15 on a first
come, first serve basis while they last.
Email Rich Mason to sign up. Make sure you include your name and phone
number in your email.
2. UUCL Fundraising Table. Donate your “almost new” items to UUCL be
sold at the Fundraising Table. (No large furniture and no clothing for the
Fundraising Table, please!) We need to know about your donation in advance,
and you can tell us about it online.
Donate online.
Every Sunday morning there will be a Festival Table in the Fellowship
Hall at Church. At the Festival Table you can
1. Get more general information about the Festival.
2. Sign up for the Trunk Sale or to donate to the Fundraising Table.
3. Sign up to be a Festival volunteer.
The proceeds of the Festival will support UUCL and an Environmental
Justice Project sponsored by the Environmental Task Force to help them
obtain Green Sanctuary Status for UUCL from the UUA. |
