Music Program

The UUCL Choir

The UUCL Choir, (AKA the UU Singers),  invites you to sing with us!  Even though we are sometimes referred to as the "Adult" Choir, teenage youth are welcome to join us. Rehearsals are usually on Wednesday evenings at 7:00, and as needed, on Sunday mornings before church.  We sing music to suit all tastes and interests from traditional UU songs to contemporary arrangements. Prior music training or experience is NOT required.  The Choir is a great way to share community with many in our congregation who sing with us, and to share the gift of our music with the congregation several times each month.

A variety of instrumental and/or vocal groups also provide special music for our services.

Children's  Choir performs at several services a year and practices as needed. Young members of UUCL also often participate in the service with special music. In alternate years, we also sponsor children to attend the Unitarian Universalist General Assembly and participate in the Biannual Children's Choir.

UUCL's Music Director Sally McCord has been involved with UUCL since 2001, and a member since 2002. She has an impressive variety of musical skills and experiences, including a lifetime as a church musician, involvement with women’s choral groups and many years as a self-employed soloist and music educator. She is currently working toward a bachelor’s in music education at the University of Kentucky.

The UUCL Music Associates help plan and implement the music program of the church. Your interest in music and your ideas are all you need to join the group.

The UUCL Music Network is an unofficial listing of church members who have music skills they like to share with the congregation during selected Sunday services. Don't be shy - let us know of your music skills and we'll try to find a place for you.
