The Eight Principles Endowment Fund

Gifts from the past for now and into the future.

What is it?

A way for people to extend the benefit of their contributions to UUCL far into the future.

How does it work?

Members of UUCL apply for grants from the Endowment Fund for projects to support the mission of UUCL and enhance the experience of the congregation.

Awarded Funds 2024

For 2024, the Endowment Team is very pleased to announce that our Eight Principles Endowment Fund has been able to award a total of $7,574.00 in funding to four projects. We were thrilled to receive ten grant proposals, and we thank everyone who submitted a proposal.

After careful deliberation, and with the support of the board of directors, we have awarded funding to the following projects based on what we identified as the highest priorities that would have the greatest benefit for and impact on UUCL:

•Labels for Learning Tree Identification

Requested by Jeanne Van Arsdall

$508.00

Attractive, descriptive labels for the tree and shrub species on our Seven Acres grounds to enhance enjoyment and knowledge of the congregation.

•New Electric Range Utilities Cost

Requested by Diana McDowell, Hospitality Chair

$2,400.00

New Kitchen Range to provide safety, environmental quality and efficiency for the many people who use and benefit from our kitchen.

•Seven Acres Shed Replacement

Requested by Carri Lyda Lucier, Seven Acres Ecology Lead

$3,166.00

The current shed is failing and doesn’t provide good protection for grounds equipment. It is unsafe for our good volunteers who use it.

•UUCL-AITL Equitable Art Commission

Requested by Nathan Hocker & Judy Hower, Artists in the Light Co-Coordinators

$1,500.00

A permanent artwork by LaVon Van Williams, Black American Folk Artist, demonstrating that UUCL is diverse in faith, ethnicity, history and spirituality and adding to the beauty of the church building.
